As a Fund Accounting Associate in our fund services team, you will be responsible for leading a team that delivers fund accounting and valuation services for a diverse portfolio of investment funds. You will oversee daily NAV production, financial reporting, client service delivery, risk and control management, and team development while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance across all fund accounting activities.
Job responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate and timely production of daily, monthly, and periodic fund accounting deliverables, including Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and financial reporting.
- Review and validate fund valuations, accounting records, and financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Ensure appropriate controls, review processes, and approvals are executed throughout the valuation and reporting lifecycle.
- Establish, maintain, and enhance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to strengthen the operational control environment.
- Drive process optimization, standardization, and workflow efficiencies across the team and key operational hand-offs.
- Assess training and development needs to build team capability, succession planning, and workforce mobility.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, and global stakeholders through proactive communication and exceptional service delivery.
- Monitor key performance indicators, operational metrics, and service level commitments, ensuring timely issue resolution and escalation where required.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of Mutual Funds, Fund Accounting, NAV Oversight, GAAP Accounting, and Account Reconciliations.
- Knowledge of securities operations, including dividends, interest accruals, corporate actions, fixed income products, and trading activity.
- Demonstrated experience leading operational teams within Fund Accounting, Asset Servicing, Fund Administration, or Investment Operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and senior stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Chartered Accountant (CA), MBA (Finance), CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Prior people management experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Experience supporting complex fund structures, alternative investments, or multi-asset portfolios.
- Knowledge of operational risk, governance, audit, and regulatory requirements within investment operations.
- Experience driving automation, transformation, or continuous improvement initiatives within fund accounting environments.
