Job Description

This is a hands‑on operational role with end‑to‑end responsibility for Direct (Evergreen) funds and fund sponsors, working closely with third‑party administrators to oversee fund accounting and investor reporting, including capital activity, financial statements, audits, and tax deliverables, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. The role operates within the dynamics of UCI PT2 structures, supporting product enhancements such as hedged share classes, and therefore benefits from an entrepreneurial mindset and interest in product innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with third‑party administrators to ensure timely completion of monthly valuations, accurate general ledger entries, and investment valuations in accordance with fair value accounting principles.
  • Review fund expenses and accruals against approved annual budgets, identify variances or outliers, and propose appropriate adjustments.
  • Review investor allocations to ensure profits, losses, and fees are calculated in accordance with partnership operating agreements.
  • Review and oversee hedged share classes, including related calculations and reporting impacts.
  • Review and approve monthly investor capital account statements.
  • Review and approve monthly management fee and trailer fee calculations.
  • Reconcile accounting data between iCapital systems and third‑party administrators using automated tools and applications.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve accounting or reporting discrepancies.
  • Monitor fund compliance with partnership operating agreement terms and escalation of issues where required.
  • Handle ad hoc operational, accounting, and reporting requests as they arise.
  • Liaise closely with Portfolio Managers and internal business partners.

  • Act as the Fund Finance primary point of contact for the GP in Direct Investing Fund structures, including:
    • Responding to ad hoc queries and providing ongoing operational and business support
    • Proactively communicating key deliverables, timelines, and dependencies
    • Supporting the setup of new share classes and coordinating new fund or product implementations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in fund accounting, fund operations, or asset management within financial services.
  • Big 4 accounting or audit experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Alternative Investment fund administration and operations is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of capital activity, investor allocations, fee structures, and partnership accounting.
  • Knowledge of hedging strategies and hedged share classes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a broader, strategic perspective.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Monitor and drive team performance against deliverables, fostering accountability and operational excellence.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in an evolving business and regulatory environment.
  • Passion for leveraging technology and automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
