A premier global enterprise platform provider is seeking a highly motivated, customer-facing Functional Solution Consultant to join their dedicated team in Tokyo. This strategic role is crucial to driving regional sales success by spearheading the market transformation from traditional on-premise systems to modern cloud-native SaaS delivery models. As a Solution Consultant, you will act as a trusted business partner, working side-by-side with large-scale enterprise clients to understand their core commercial goals and map high-value cloud features to resolve their complex operational needs. Key Responsibilities Drive the Sales Cycle : Partner closely with local and global GTM units—including Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services—to serve as the primary authority on the functional and business aspects of our enterprise solutions. Consultative Value Delivery : Run interactive presentations and collaborative whiteboard sessions to demonstrate exactly how our software features integrate into a customer's broader technical ecosystem. Tailored Demonstrations : Engage in deep business consulting activities, conducting detailed evaluations and building customized solution demonstrations tailored to specific client workflows. Strategic Bidding Support : Take ownership of the functional, operational, and business sections when responding to detailed client requests for information (RFI) or proposals (RFP). Global Collaboration : Report directly to the Japan-based Solution Director while participating in occasional international travel for advanced corporate training and global team summits. Requirements Bilingual Communication : Absolute fluency in spoken and written Japanese for high-level client interactions, paired with strong professional English capabilities for internal global collaboration. Customer-Facing Experience : 3+ years of successful experience in enterprise pre-sales, management consulting, client success, or business analysis roles. Domain Expertise : A background within specialized commercial sectors—ideally insurance, underwriting, claims, or complex risk management platforms—is highly preferred. Presentation Excellence : Confirmed ability to deliver engaging technical presentations, stand your ground with senior stakeholders, and pragmatically navigate challenging functional questions. Technical & Analytical Aptitude : General knowledge of modern enterprise software architectures, with hands-on system configuration experience considered a strong asset.
