About the Team

We are Division Commercial Vehicle Solutions, we are currently expanding our R&D team across China and looking for new colleagues to join us in Shanghai.

What you can look forward to as a Functional Safety Manager:

  • Lead and own all functional safety activities, ensuring alignment with ISO 26262 and driving cross‑domain safety execution (EPM, eHW, SW, Testing)
  • Deploy and maintain the Safety Plan, coordinating deliverables and timelines with internal teams, customers, and suppliers; establish Customer/Supplier DIA including deliverables, deviation handling, and document exchange plans
  • Create and manage safety work products, including Item Definition (update from FSM to System), Impact Analysis, HARA (and customer alignment), Functional Safety Concept, and Technical Safety Concept
  • Define the functional and technical safety architecture, ensuring safety goals are met and requirements are consistent and properly traced across system and component levels
  • Initiate and coordinate safety analysis, such as FTA, FMEDA, safety metrics allocation, common‑cause failure analysis, and definition of hardware safety mechanisms with diagnostic coverage
  • Plan and support confirmation reviews according to required independence and support project members in executing functional safety activities
  • Coordinate and communicate all safety‑related activities, deliveries, and issues with project teams, customers, and suppliers; escalate safety risks or anomalies when necessary.
  • Develop final safety deliverables, including the Safety Manual and the Safety Case Report, ensuring complete and compliant documentation for release

Your Profile as a Functional Safety Manager:

  • Master degree in engineering is preferred
  • 4+ year engineering experience in functional safety relevant automotive systems and knowledge of the relevant standards and regulations
  • Good understanding of safety concepts like failure safe, FFI, redundancy etc. and when and why they are needed
  • Knowledge of and experience with safety analysis methods (e.g. FMEA, FMEDA, FTA) is an asset
  • Experience with automotive development process (e.g. CMMI, SPICE) is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team and experience in working within a global matrix environment
  • Project Management Knowledge is an asset
  • Fluent English skills, both written and verbal are compulsory
