Business Line Description :

NXP's CTO Functional Safety Competence Centre (FuSa CC) is a central engineering organization responsible for safety architecture and management for NXP's Automotive, Edge, Audio , Analog and Radar Processing business lines. Team produces functional safety solutions covering the very wide-range of SoC solutions required by the business lines. The team is challenged to produce industry-leading functional safety solutions covering very cost-sensitive, low power devices to highly-integrated, high performance, multi-domain devices compliant with the latest automotive and industrial safety standards. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced safety architects and engineers on next-generation automotive and industrial semiconductor products.

Job Summary :

  • Assist in defining and documenting safety requirements in compliance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
  • Support development of functional safety concepts for IPs, subsystems, and SoC platforms.
  • Contribute to safety analysis activities including FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and Fault Injection.
  • Support preparation of safety work products required for safety assessments and audits.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, software, and system engineering teams to understand implementation of safety mechanisms.
  • Assist in reviewing technical safety documentation, safety manuals, and safety case artifacts.
  • Support integration of safety IPs and safety architecture solutions into automotive and industrial products.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives, automation, and development of safety engineering methodologies

Required Qualifications :

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Automotive Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals, computer architecture, microcontrollers, or SoC design concepts.
  • Exposure to embedded systems, hardware/software interaction, or semiconductor development.
  • Basic understanding of functional safety concepts and interest in automotive safety standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global engineering environment.
