As Functional Business Consultant – Service, you are responsible for the end‑to‑end Service processes and system capabilities within our global Service organization.

Your primary focus is IFS Cloud as the core ERP system for Service. At the same time, you take functional ownership for additional Service‑related business applications and ensure that all systems work together coherently.

You act as the functional bridge between business, processes, and systems, ensuring stable operations today while shaping sustainable, future‑proof solutions for tomorrow.

Roles and Responsibilities

Service Process & Capability Ownership

  • Own and continuously improve end‑to‑end Service processes (e.g. Installed Base, Service Contracts, Work Orders, Service Execution, Billing)
  • Act as the primary ISM contact and sparring partner for the Service organization
  • Translate business requirements into clear, functional system solutions

Functional Consulting – IFS Cloud & Service Applications

  • Functional ownership and configuration of Service‑related capabilities in IFS Cloud
  • Analyze incidents, problems, and change requests, including root‑cause analysis
  • Ensure system stability, data quality, and effective system usage
  • Support testing, releases, and quality assurance activities

System Landscape & Solution Fit

  • Take functional responsibility for additional Service business applications beyond IFS Cloud
  • Understand how multiple systems interact across the Service value chain
  • Evaluate process requirements, business impact, and technical fit pragmatically
  • Contribute to solution decisions where process fit and sustainability may outweigh predefined standards

Change, Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Drive changes from initial idea to productive solution
  • Coordinate and steer external service providers
  • Prepare solution concepts, decision papers, and recommendations
  • Facilitate workshops and alignments with Service, Operations, Finance, and IT stakeholders

Enablement & Documentation

  • Support and train key users
  • Create and maintain clear process and solution documentation
  • Actively support adoption and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Service processes in an industrial, asset‑based, or project‑driven environment
  • Hands‑on experience with IFS Cloud Service modules (preferred)
  • Openness and capability to work with heterogeneous application landscapes
  • Ability to assess business requirements and translate them into sustainable functional solutions
  • Structured, analytical, and pragmatic working style with strong ownership mindset
  • Confident communication with business and IT stakeholders
  • Very good English skills, German is a plus
