Job Description

Natixis in Portugal is looking for a FullStack Tech Lead, with expertise in Java, Angular and GCP, to join and technically steer its IT Payments team.

The project is being developed by a highly collaborative team present in Paris and Porto, responsible for the evolution, scalability, cloud modernization, and support of the product. The application is composed of frontend, backend, and batch processing components.

As a Tech Lead, you will play a key role in steering our technical vision, architecting robust solutions, establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and orchestrating our cloud migration and optimization initiatives. You will be the technical cornerstone of the team, bridging the gap between business requirements and high-quality software architecture.

Main Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary technical reference and authority within the Agile development team, guiding technical decisions throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Architect, design, and oversee the development of testable, efficient, scalable, and reusable high-quality code.
• Define the frontend architecture and lead the implementation of user-friendly, high-performance interfaces using Angular.
• Lead the design, deployment, and management of cloud-native applications and microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Collaborate with Product Owners and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable architectural improvements.
• Ensure secure API integration and high-performance communication between frontend, backend, and cloud services.
• Enforce and elevate coding standards, lead code reviews, and champion engineering excellence within the team.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and profile complex application issues to optimize performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous technical evolution.
• Define and oversee release management strategies, automating platform releases in hybrid/cloud environments while proactively coordinating with other teams.
• Mentor and coach team members (junior, mid-level, and senior developers), fostering a collaborative culture of continuous learning and technical growth.

Qualifications

Main Technical Requirements:

• Degree in Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar (equivalent experience will be considered).
• 9+ years of professional experience in software development, with proven experience in leading technical teams or orchestrating complex technical projects.
• Deep proficiency in Java (17 / 21), with a strong understanding of object-oriented principles, design patterns, clean code, and software architecture.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot (3.x), Spring Cloud, Maven, and Git.
• 9+ years of experience with Angular (preferably with knowledge of the latest versions).
• Solid experience in RESTful API design, API first strategies, and secure microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD automation pipelines (Jenkins, XL Deploy, XL Release).
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., Oracle) and NoSQL databases (nice to have).
• Solid, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including services such as:
• Compute & Containers: GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), Cloud Run, App Engine.
• Database & Storage: Cloud SQL, Spanner, or Cloud Storage.
• CI/CD & Serverless: Cloud Build, Cloud Functions (nice to have)

Other Requirements:

• Fluent in English – minimum B2/C1 level (mandatory, as you will interact daily with the Paris team).
• French language skills are a strong plus, but not mandatory (to facilitate communication and proximity with stakeholders in France).
• Availability to work from the Porto/Lisbon office 2 days per week (mandatory but flexible hybrid model).
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (Scrum/Kanban, Jira).
• Exceptional problem-solving, architectural design, and analytical skills.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• A real passion for driving technical excellence, sharing knowledge, and mentoring others.
• Availability to travel abroad for short periods of time, as required.
• Team player, client-oriented, and highly proactive attitude.
