
Wellness Center Coordinator
Full Time - Senior Living - Clear Lake, IA
Are you passionate about senior wellness and community engagement? We're looking for a Wellness Center Coordinator to lead the fitness, health, and recreational programs for residents in our 55+ independent living community. If you're an organized, energetic leader with a background in wellness or fitness programming, especially for older adults, this could be the perfect fit for you!
Wellness & Fitness Programs
Plan and lead wellness activities, including fitness classes, health seminars, and recreational events.
Design programs that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Create and manage community outreach programs that foster intergenerational connection.
Aquatic Center Oversight
Ensure pool safety and compliance with health regulations.
Supervise lifeguards and aquatic instructors.
Schedule water aerobics, therapy sessions, and open swim times.
Resident Engagement & Support
Help residents follow wellness plans prescribed by their doctors or therapists.
Provide resources to residents and their families.
Promote social interaction and active living through fun, engaging activities.
Team Leadership
Hire, train, and manage instructors, lifeguards, and pool staff.
Partner with outside vendors and volunteers.
Monitor attendance and satisfaction to improve programs continuously.
Education & Experience
2+ years of experience coordinating wellness programs, preferably in senior living.
CPR/AED and First Aid certified.
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) preferred or willingness to get certified within 90 days.
Skills
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience with fitness or aquatic instruction.
Knowledge of program budgeting and community outreach is a plus.
Able to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and assist residents in and out of the pool.
Comfortable working in and around water.
Able to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
