General Description
The System Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the organization’s server, storage, virtualization, backup, and infrastructure-dependent application environments. This role ensures the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of core technology systems supporting business operations. The position serves as a technical resource for enterprise infrastructure platforms and business applications that rely on server, virtualization, storage, database, network, and disaster recovery services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Administer and maintain server infrastructure, including Windows and/or Linux systems.
2. Manage virtualization environment, including VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter platforms.
3. Provision, monitor, and optimize virtual machines and system resources.
4. Manage enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS) and capacity planning.
5. Administer backup and recovery solutions, including routine backup validation and disaster recovery testing.
6. Ensure system availability, performance monitoring, and proactive issue resolution.
7. Apply system patches, firmware updates, and security hardening practices.
8. Maintain infrastructure documentation, system configurations, and operational procedures.
9. Support data center operations, including hardware lifecycle and vendor coordination.
10. Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
11. Administer and support infrastructure-dependent business applications, including coordination of upgrades, integrations, troubleshooting, vendor support, and lifecycle management for applications requiring server, virtualization, storage, database, backup, disaster recovery, network, or security infrastructure services.
12. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, application, and vendor teams to support enterprise systems and technology initiatives.
