
The University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time ambulatory psychiatrist position spanning two clinical settings: Strong Ties and Neurosurgery. We are seeking a candidate with interest in and/or experience caring for individuals with serious mental illness in the Strong Ties setting, as well as patients undergoing pre- and post-neurosurgical treatment. Strong Ties Clinic is a designated Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) that provides a broad range of services and supports through a collaborative, team-based model of care. This position also includes serving as a psychiatrist within Neurosurgery, supporting patients with spinal injuries and other neurological conditions during pre-surgical evaluations and providing psychiatric care to help optimize rehabilitation outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to work as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, APPs, and nursing staff.
This full-time position includes an academic appointment with University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of senior instructor, assistant, or associate professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and ample opportunities for faculty development within a robust tradition of mentorship. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and fellows, medical students and other trainees is an integral part of this position. In addition, there will be opportunity for research and scholarly activity related to working with a young adults with psychotic disorders.

Total annual compensation range for full-time service:
Sr. Instructor - $209,000 - $260,264
Assistant Professor - $221,350 - $287,611
Associate Professor - $243,200 - $315,271
Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, loan forgiveness program, annual CME allotment, and a generous benefits package through the University that includes a retirement program and tuition benefits.

The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
