Job Description

York Suburban School District is looking for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support a YS Student attending Dallastown Area Middle School as apart of their Life Skills classroom. This position would be a member of the York Suburban School District team but report to Dallastown Area Middle School.

TITLE: Full-Time Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.

High School diploma required

Meet one of the paraprofessional competency training requirements below:

1. Two years of post- secondary education coursework (48 college credits) or
2. Highly Qualified Special Education Certificate through PDE or
3. Passing score on the Comprehensive Assessment of Paraprofessional Educators (CAPE) Test or
4. Possess the ability to obtain highly qualified status through educational opportunities provided within the timeline of the district.
5. Prior experience working with students with disabilities
6. Must have obtained (or will obtain) valid PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks (Use code 1KG6XN) within the last twelve (12) months.

BUILDING: This position will report to Dallastown Area Middle School to support the student.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate, work schedule and other conditions of employment in accordance with the York Suburban Education Support Personnel Association negotiated agreement.
