Job Description

Kimberton Whole Foods in Collegeville is seeking a dedicated, full-time Perishables Receiver to become a vital part of our team!

Availability: Full-time, 40 hours per week. One weekend shift is required weekly

Schedule: Able to work opening, closing and midday shifts. Shifts are within a 6am-8:30pm timeframe

Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.

Hourly Pay $17-19/hour

The Perishable Receiver's responsibilities include:

  • Providing exceptional service to all, including customers, team members, and delivery drivers.
  • Unloading and organizing incoming deliveries for the Perishable Department in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
  • Engaging with the Perishable Team in stocking, back stocking, and other projects as needed.
  • Inspecting deliveries to verify that quality and condition of product is up to KWF standards.
  • Matching invoice details to delivered products and handling any corrections or returns as necessary.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the back stock area, prioritizing the safety of all who are operating in the space.

  • You have previously worked in a retail or warehouse environment and have experience with receiving and inventory management.
  • You’re enthusiastic about customer service and have a cheerful and positive attitude to everyone you interact with.
  • You’re an effective communicator who embodies the spirit of a team player.
  • You are self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.
  • You understand the importance of pacing and can shift gears in accordance to volume, time, and temperature demands.
  • You are comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions.
  • You are diligent about workplace safety.

Requirements

Physical capabilities:

  • Full sense range (vision, hearing and sense of smell) – the ability to read product labels, distinguish color & smell for quality control as well as the ability to communicate with the customers and co-workers.
  • Lifting, gripping and carrying objects – up to 50-75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools and other products.
  • Stooping, squatting, & kneeling – stoop and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.
  • Walking – short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.
  • Standing- prolonged standing.
  • Work environment – movement based with the majority of time being in motion (walking & standing) rather that sedentary (sitting).
  • Climate – ability to work in cold environments (cooler, Freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
