PRINCETON, NJ: A warm, intellectual, and down-to-earth family in downtown Princeton is seeking a FULL-TIME, LIVE-OUT NANNY to join them beginning Summer 2026, with a thoughtful transition period in place. This is a long-term opportunity for a calm, confident, and naturally “zen” caregiver who thrives in a dynamic household and brings an easygoing, team-player mentality to each day.
The role will begin as a four-day-per-week schedule over the summer, primarily focused on caring for one child at a time, before transitioning by the end of summer into a full-time, 45-hour-per-week position caring for both daughters, ages 6 months and 2.5 years. The family leads busy, ever-evolving schedules; Dad is a professor and Mom works from home in startup go-to-market, so they are looking for someone who can move fluidly with the rhythm of the household and confidently manage both children with ease.
Their home is ideally located within walking distance to parks, classes, and activities, and they value a nanny who enjoys getting out and about while also creating a calm, grounded environment at home. Grandparents are actively involved and present at times, so the ideal candidate is someone who is collaborative, respectful, and comfortable working alongside extended family members.
The right fit will be someone who is deeply calm, collected, and unflappable; someone who does not get overwhelmed easily and approaches childcare with a relaxed, child-led philosophy. The family would especially love a Russian-speaking nanny and are also open to Spanish speakers.
Responsibilities include engaging the children in age-appropriate play and activities, supporting routines, managing children’s laundry and light tidying, running occasional errands, and preparing meals for the children. Cooking for the family is strongly preferred, particularly on lighter childcare days or when additional support is needed in the home. There may be occasional days where childcare is minimal, and the nanny can step in to assist with cooking or household flow.
The nanny must be a confident driver and will use the family’s car (with car seats provided) for transportation to activities and outings. During the summer months, the nanny will also take the children to the local community pool and should be comfortable getting in the water with them, particularly in the toddler pool.
The family offers a supportive, collaborative environment and is truly seeking someone who feels like a natural extension of their home; someone adaptable, proactive, and grounded, who can bring a sense of ease and harmony to their daily lives.
If you are a calm, capable, and flexible professional who loves working with young children and values being part of a thoughtful, respectful household, this is a truly special opportunity in a beautiful Princeton setting.
