Job Description

A warm and engaged family in Miami Beach, Florida is seeking a professional full-time nanny to care for their two children, ages 7 and 3, with a third baby due in May. The family will have a Newborn Care Specialist for the first six months. After that, mom will remain very hands-on with the infant, and the nanny will eventually provide support to mom with the baby during the day while the older children are in school.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for a career nanny, ideally someone with a teaching background or strong educational experience, who can provide nurturing, structured care and support the children’s learning and development. The ideal candidate will be warm, organized, proactive, and comfortable working alongside a very involved mother.

Start Date: The position is expected to begin in the first week of June. Applications are now open, and the family is ready to interview qualified candidates.

Schedule

The schedule is Monday through Friday. The day begins at 7:00 AM for approximately two hours each morning to help the children get ready for school, including waking them, helping them get dressed, preparing breakfast, and organizing their lunch and school items. Dad typically drives the children to school.

The nanny will then have a break during the day and return in the afternoon, usually around 2:00 PM or 3:00 PM, to pick the children up from school in Miami Beach, drive them to nearby activities, assist with afternoon care, prepare or serve a light meal, help with homework, support the evening routine, and help the children get settled for bed. The nanny will also be expected to clean up after meals and the children’s activities. The day will generally end around 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing care for the two older children
• Support the children’s daily routines before and after school
• Assist the 7-year-old with grade-level homework and school-related support
• Engage the 3-year-old in age-appropriate learning and activities
• Pick up the children from school and transport them to nearby activities
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children
• Help maintain structure, routine, and organization in the children’s daily lives
• Eventually provide support to mom with the infant during the day while the older children are in school
• Travel with the family on short trips throughout the year

Travel
The family travels a few times per year for short trips, typically one to two weeks at a time, both domestically and internationally. The nanny must be able and willing to travel with the family.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a professional nanny in private homes
• Strong preference for a career nanny with a teaching background or strong educational experience
• High school diploma or college degree preferred
• Experience with school-age children and preschoolers required
• Comfortable supporting a home with a newborn while working alongside a hands-on mother
• Must be able to drive and safely transport children in Miami Beach
• Warm, dependable, organized, and developmentally minded
• Able to assist with homework, routines, and structured daily care
• Passport and flexibility to travel required

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $35 to $40 per hour, based on experience. Benefits include a healthcare stipend, two weeks PTO, paid holidays, sick pay, and travel per diem.
