Start date: ASAP
Position: Full-time, live-in
Working hours: 43.5 hours/week

About the Family

A warm and welcoming family living in Zermatt, where they also manage a family hotel, is looking for a caring, reliable and proactive live-in nanny to join their household.

The main responsibility will be caring for their six-year-old son, while also providing some household support and occasional assistance to the family hotel.

Their son speaks fluent German, and the family would particularly like to encourage and develop his English. They are therefore looking for a candidate who speaks German and/or English, ideally with a strong level of English.

Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Providing attentive and engaging care for Leonard
  • Organising age-appropriate activities, games and outings
  • Supporting the child with his daily routines
  • Encouraging his development, independence and English language skills
  • Accompanying him to activities and appointments when required
  • Preparing simple meals and snacks for him
  • Ensuring his safety and well-being at all times

Household support

  • Keeping the child's bedroom and belongings organised
  • Children's laundry and ironing
  • Tidying up after activities and meals
  • Assisting with light household duties as needed
  • Helping maintain a clean and organised family environment

Occasional hotel assistance

  • Providing occasional support to the family in their hotel
  • Assisting with simple tasks when required, depending on the family's schedule

Working Schedule

The position is based on 43.5 hours per week, with two days off per week

As the family's schedule and needs can vary, the working schedule will change from one week to another and will be communicated in advance

The candidate should therefore be comfortable working weekends and on a changing schedule, while always receiving two days off per week.

Overtime will be compensated in accordance with the applicable employment conditions.

Requirements

Profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • EU passport or valid Swiss work permit
  • Warm, caring and genuinely passionate about working with children
  • Reliable, responsible and trustworthy
  • Proactive and able to anticipate the family's needs
  • Flexible and comfortable with a changing schedule
  • Organised and able to work independently
  • Comfortable becoming part of both the family environment and the wider hotel team
  • Experienced working with children of the same age
  • A confident English speaker and/or German speaker
  • Willing to live and work in Zermatt on a long-term basis

Benefits

Employment Conditions

The family offers:

  • CHF 4,600 gross/month + 13th salary as a starting salary, negotiable depending on experience and profile
  • 43.5 hours per week
  • 2 days off per week
  • Overtime compensation in accordance with the applicable conditions
  • 5 weeks of paid holidays
  • A fully furnished, modern private studio in Zermatt at a reduced monthly rent
  • A warm and familiar working environment within both the family home and the hotel

This is a unique opportunity for a nanny who is looking for a long-term position in Zermatt, enjoys an active family environment and would be happy to become a trusted part of the family's daily life.
