We’re currently looking for a Full-Time Nanny in Palmyra, VA (22963)
A warm and welcoming family just outside Lake Monticello is seeking an engaging, nurturing, and dependable nanny to care for their two young boys. The family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with children, encourages learning through play, and is excited to grow with their family long-term.
Schedule: Part-time hours available immediately (July/August) and transitioning to full-time in September.

Part-Time Schedule (flexible start date): Monday–Friday, approximately 20 hours per week, generally mornings (as early as 8:00 AM–12:00 PM), with flexibility based on family needs.

Full-Time Schedule (Beginning September): Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional schedule flexibility needed.
Start Date: Flexible; ideally late August 2026 (week of August 23rd), with part-time opportunities available sooner.
Length of Position: Ongoing, long-term position
Rate: $25/hour
2 children: Boy, born August 2024 + Boy, born May 2026
- The oldest will be starting half-day preschool this August— care is needed in the afternoons only.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care for an infant and toddler, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental growth.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities including reading, arts and crafts, creative play, sensory activities, and outdoor exploration.
- Support developmental milestones through interactive play, tummy time, movement activities, early learning opportunities, and potty training readiness when appropriate.
- Assist with children's daily routines, including bottle feeding, meals and snacks, diapering, and general hygiene care.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for the children by tidying play areas, washing children's dishes and bottles, and handling light child-related housekeeping tasks.
- Work collaboratively with a work-from-home parent while remaining flexible to the family's evolving scheduling and childcare needs.
Requirements
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- Minimum 2 years of childcare experience
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to pass a background and social media screening
- Two professional childcare references from paid childcare positions
- Patient, dependable, and highly engaged caregiver
- Strong communication skills and professionalism
- Comfortable working in a home where a parent works remotely
- Comfortable with the family’s friendly 5-year-old Yellow Lab. No pet care is required, aside from occasionally letting the dog outside when needed.
- Genuine enthusiasm for child development and learning through play
Compensation + Benefits
This position pays $25 per hour. The family is seeking approximately 20 hours per week initially, transitioning to full-time (40 hours per week) beginning in September. This is an ongoing, long-term opportunity with a family hoping to find someone who will grow alongside their children.
