What you bring to SBHG:
High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing, graduation from an accredited school of psychiatric technology, or associate’s degree in nursing or social sciences preferred.
One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for work experience)
One (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
A valid California LVN or LPT license is required.
Valid CPR certification required within 30 days of employment.
Valid ProAct certification required within 30 days of employment.
How you will make a difference:
Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Registered Nurse in charge of the facility on the shift and the attending physician.
Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physician’s orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
Attend and participate in morning rounds, change of shift meetings, and treatment team meetings as scheduled on the assignment sheet.
Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
Provides other nursing duties including first aid and medical intervention within scope of licensure as necessary for each individual client.
Supports admission processes to ensure PHF beds remain full, including reviewing admission packets and securing approval, scheduling admissions, and completing all required verifications & forms upon arrival in facility.
Division/Program Overview:
24/7 inpatient involuntary program
16-bed facility for youth (ages 12-17) dealing with acute psychiatric symptoms
Intensive treatment programs with individualized care plans
Available for contracting Central Valley counties
Moves clients through five phases: admission; engagement; learning; stabilization and linkage to resources and aftercare
