
The Department of Sociology in the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University invites applicants for a full-time lecturer to begin July 1, 2026 for a period of one year, with the possibility of renewal contingent on need and satisfactory job performance. We seek candidates who can teach sociological theory, introduction to sociology, and potentially research methods. Candidates with specializations in social inequality or health disparities will be prioritized. The Lecturer will teach three courses per semester, with a minimum of one section of Intro each semester.

Expected Salary Range
The annual starting base salary range for this position is from $53,000 to $55,000. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Applicants must have a PhD in Sociology or related field at the time of the appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with: (1) demonstrated evidence of effective teaching experience and clear pedagogy; and (2) subject matter expertise.
