DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY, CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1826, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) is a private, world-class research university located in Cleveland, Ohio. With an exceptional record of research achievements, CWRU is associated with 17 Nobel laureates, including the very first Nobel prize winner of the United States in 1907 on the famous Michelson-Morley interferometer experiment for measurement of the speed of light. The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences boasts an engaged student body and outstanding teaching environment for faculty.

We invite applications for a full-time lecturer position starting in Fall 2026. The initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for additional one-year terms based on performance and departmental needs. We are seeking candidates committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, mentoring, and service.

The annual starting base salary range for this position is from $52,000-$55,000. CWRU considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. Qualifications

Candidates with a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field who have demonstrated excellence in teaching college-level chemistry courses particularly in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry are strongly encouraged to apply.

A normal teaching load for lecturers is two courses per semester. The expectation for this position is to teach a combination of General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry lecture and laboratory courses with multiple sections.
