Instructor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science seeks applicants for a full-time instructor position (not tenure-track) in Mathematics beginning in the fall of 2026.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should possess:

  • A terminal Ph.D. in Mathematics is required.
  • A demonstrated excellence in teaching or demonstrable ability and or commitment for teaching excellence.
  • A demonstrated track record of service activities.
  • A demonstrated track record or expressed interest in engaging students in active pedagogy and problem solving activities.
  • An expressed desire and commitment to support the university's mission.

General Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Teach undergraduate courses in mathematics, including the calculus sequence.
  • Participate in program review and pedagogical improvement.
  • Work with the Student Success team to coordinate the Math Student Success Center.
  • Participate in service activities as needed by the department and the university.

Applicants must provide a cover letter addressing qualifications for the position, curriculum vitae, philosophy of teaching, and the names and contact information of three professional references. Applicants must also submit a statement demonstrating an understanding of and a firm comm itment to advance the mission of Catholic h igher educat ion as it is articulated in Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
