American Family Care (AFC) is one of the nation's leading providers of urgent care, accessible primary care, and occupational medicine services. Our centers are equipped with on-site laboratory testing and digital X-ray capabilities, allowing providers to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking an experienced, full-time Physician Assistant to serve as a float provider between our Old Bridge, Milltown, and Freehold locations. This position is ideal for a confident clinician who enjoys practicing independently in a high-volume urgent care setting.
Providers work primarily as the sole medical provider on shift, supported by experienced clinical staff. Candidates must be comfortable evaluating and managing a broad range of urgent care and occupational medicine presentations across all age groups.
New graduates will not be considered for this position.
Schedule
- Full-time
- 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating schedule between Old Bridge, Milltown, and Freehold locations
- Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and injuries
- Perform comprehensive medical assessments and develop treatment plans
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Perform procedures including:
- Laceration repair
- Incision and drainage
- Wound management
- Splinting and orthopedic injury evaluation
- Provide occupational medicine services, including workers' compensation evaluations
- Prescribe medications within scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive health measures
- Collaborate with supervising physicians according to established protocols
Qualifications
- Current Physician Assistant license in New Jersey
- NCCPA certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing patients independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency with common urgent care procedures
- Excellent communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to travel between assigned AFC locations

Compensation
$72–$85 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
