The Department of Haemato-Oncology is seeking a Lead Physician for the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program will provide clinical, administrative, and strategic leadership for the establishment, development, and operation of the BMT service. Reporting to the Chair, Department of Haemato-Oncology, the incumbent will oversee all aspects of patient care, program quality, and research, while fostering a multidisciplinary approach to achieve excellence in patient outcomes, education, and innovation.

Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary medical lead for all autologous and allogeneic BMT procedures, including haploidentical and matched unrelated donor transplants.
• Provide direct patient care across the transplant continuum: evaluation, conditioning, infusion, post-transplant follow-up, and survivorship.
• Ensure compliance with international (e.g., EBMT, CIBMTR, FACT/JACIE) and national standards for transplant care.
• Lead daily multidisciplinary BMT rounds and coordinate care among physicians, nurses, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and allied health professionals.
• Develop and oversee patient selection criteria and clinical protocols for transplant candidacy.
• Lead the strategic planning and phased implementation of the BMT unit, including infrastructure, staffing, and process workflows.
• Establish and maintain policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and clinical pathways.
• Develop relationships with referring physicians and regional partners to grow the referral base.
• Participate in budget planning, cost optimization, and resource allocation for sustainable program growth.
• Implement quality management systems and lead efforts to achieve and maintain accreditation (FACT/JACIE or equivalent).
• Monitor program outcomes, morbidity/mortality data, and benchmarking against international standards.
• Chair or actively participate in the BMT Quality Committee and Morbidity & Mortality reviews.
• Promote and participate in clinical trials, translational research, and data registry contributions.
• Collaborate with molecular diagnostics, immunology, and hematopathology teams for precision medicine approaches.
• Encourage investigator-initiated studies and secure external funding for research activities.
• Supervise and mentor BMT fellows, residents, medical students, and allied health trainees.
• Develop continuing medical education (CME) activities for staff and physicians.
• Represent the BMT program at local, regional, and international scientific meetings.

• MD or equivalent degree with board certification in Hematology/Oncology with subspecialty training in hematology and bone marrow transplantation.
• Formal fellowship training in Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplantation.
• Minimum 5 years of post-fellowship BMT clinical experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
• Strong track record in clinical research and publications.
• Board certification in Hematology/Oncology (with subspecialty training in BMT).
• Demonstrated experience performing autologous and allogeneic transplants (including haploidentical and MUD).
• Track record of leading multidisciplinary rounds and coordinating patient care.
• Familiarity with international transplant standards (FACT, JACIE, EBMT, CIBMTR).
