Overview

Are you an Executive Chef looking to work for an amazing organization by serving others and connecting with your co-workers?

Immanuel Communities is seeking an Executive Chef to work at The Landing, located at 3500 Faulkner Drive, Lincoln, NE 68516. The Landing has 90 independent living, 34 assisted living and 14 memory support apartment homes.

The Executive Chef generally works a schedule of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; however, as the leader of the culinary program, this position requires the flexibility to adjust hours as needed to support operational demands, team coverage, and resident dining experiences. This may include occasional early morning shifts (6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and other schedule variations.

Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required

What You Will Do

As the Executive Chef, you will lead all aspects of our culinary program, creating exceptional dining experiences that delight residents while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and service. You will oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including menu development, food purchasing and inventory management, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, training, and team development.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for designing creative and engaging dining offerings, including daily featured selections, monthly fine-dining menus, holiday meals, and a monthly five-course tasting experience. You will ensure excellence in food preparation, presentation, portion control, sanitation, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with dining room leadership and other departments to deliver a seamless resident experience.

Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who can build, develop, and retain a high-performing culinary team, foster a positive and accountable culture, and inspire team members to consistently exceed resident expectations.

Skills & Requirements

Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or trade/ vocational school degree in Culinary Arts is required.

Three (3) years of experience as a chef is required, with executive chef experience preferred.One (1) year of managerial experience is required.
