Job Description

A warm family of three in Brentwood is seeking a Full-Time Private Chef to prepare fresh, high-quality meals in their home. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level private chef, recent culinary school graduate, or restaurant/hotel chef interested in transitioning into a private household.

The family’s current chef has been with them for 12 years and will be leaving at the end of October. They will be available to help train the incoming chef on the family’s preferences, routines, and favorite dishes, making this an ideal opportunity for someone newer to private service.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM

Location: Brentwood, Los Angeles

Responsibilities

The primary focus of the position will be preparing dinner for 2–3 people each evening, with occasional lunches as needed. Responsibilities will include:

• Planning and preparing fresh, healthy daily meals
• Dinner preparation for 2–3 family members
• Occasional lunch preparation
• Grocery shopping and sourcing high-quality ingredients
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and well stocked
• Managing pantry and refrigerator inventory
• Accommodating different tastes and dietary preferences
• Learning and maintaining the family’s favorite recipes and established routines

One family member is an adventurous eater who especially enjoys Asian and Italian cuisine and appreciates variety. Another family member is pescatarian and prefers simple, fresh meals. The chef should be comfortable preparing different dishes when necessary.

Ideal Candidate

We are very open to someone who is early in their culinary career. Previous private household experience is not required.

The ideal candidate may be:

• A recent culinary school graduate
• A line cook, sous chef, or restaurant chef looking to transition into private service
• Passionate about cooking and eager to learn
• Comfortable with both simple everyday meals and more creative cuisine
• Comfortable preparing pescatarian meals

• Flexible and receptive to feedback
