We’re currently looking for a Full-Time Caregiver in Richmond, VA 23222

A lovely family near the Mechanicsville Turnpike seeks a full-time caregiver for their bubbly 89-year-old grandmother for an immediate start. Care is needed five days per week, including weekends, with a fluctuating schedule (7AM-3:30PM, 9AM-6PM, or 12PM-9PM). The client is wheelchair dependent, wears adult briefs, and weighs approximately 200 lbs. The caregiver must be able to independently assist with transfers (gait belt available). The client’s granddaughter also lives in the home but will be at work during care hours. A great caregiver will be flexible, attentive, and dependable.

• Start date: Immediate
• Length of Position: Long-term
• Schedule: 5 days per week (including some weekends)
• Shifts will include: 7AM-3:30PM, 9AM-6PM, or 12PM-9PM
• Exact schedule will change week to week
• Compensation: $15 per hour

Responsibilities

• Engaging with the client through games, reading, etc.
• Lifting/transfers from bed to wheelchair, etc.
• Light cooking for client
• Client-related tidying, including sweeping their room and washing their dishes
• Assistance with all hygiene needs
• Medication reminders (10AM, 4PM, 10PM)

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 2 years of paid, professional adult care experience with ability to provide references to cover at least 2 years of such experience
• Able to provide at least two professional adult care references
• CPR certified or willing to become certified
• Must be able to successfully clear a background and social media check
• Valid photo ID (driver's license or passport) for identity purposes

Compensation + Benefits

This position pays $15 per hour, and the family is looking for 40 hours of care per week.

Benefits:

• 2 weeks of paid vacation per year (1 week of the family’s choosing and 1 week of the caregiver’s choosing)
• 3 sick/personal days per year
