Full Time Athletic Assistant Softball


The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time Athletic Assistant Softball at our Brenham Campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:

Work closely with the Head Coach and Assistant
Coaches to help to teach, mentor and monitor the young men/women involved
in the Blinn athletic program.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Assist the coach(s) in
    practice, games or events.
  • Ability to travel with
    the team and/or coaching staff to games, events and recruitment. Assist
    in the supervision of extra-curricular activities.
  • Compiles sports
    information, including but not limited to statistics and reporting, as
    assigned.
  • Assists with promotions
    and marketing of the Blinn College athletic program. Helps maintain
    the athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Assists with scouting,
    recruiting and other work related duties. Attend all required meetings
    with Athletic Director.
  • Assist in supervising
    the strength and conditioning program.
  • Assist with monitoring
    team academics including study halls, classroom checks and
    academic progress reports of student athletes
  • Assist in the
    supervision of the Colleges residence halls and dining hall.
  • Evening and weekend
    work is required
  • Adhere to all Blinn
    College policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all NJCAA
    rules and regulations.
  • Performs other related
    tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant certification.
  • Current Texas driver's license or ability to obtain.

Minimum Competencies

  • Experience in assisting in the assigned sport.
  • Ability to effectively motivate, teach, and supervise students.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with students and peers.
  • Ability to full comply with NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to fully comply with Blinn College District policies and procedures.
  • Reliable transportation
    to travel between worksites and complete job duties
  • Evening and weekend work
    is required

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in health or Kinesiology from an accredited college or university.


Preferred Competencies

  • Coaching or Playing experience at the NJCAA level
  • Knowledge of NJCAA, Texas, & Region XIV Softball recruiting
    rules and guidelines
  • Coaching experience at the junior college, university, or high
    school level
  • Proficient in using technology such as GameChanger and iPad video
    analysis
  • Knowledge of NJCAA & Region XIV Conference rules and
    regulations
  • Knowledge of Texas recruiting.

Special Notes To Applicants


Able to travel to play and recruit 7 days a week if needed. Hours
vary depending on event.
Practices are both inside and outside while Games are outside -
Awareness of varying temperatures and elements such as heat, cold, rain, &
humidity.

This is a 12 month, benefits eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Leave time includes 96 hours vacation, 40 hours discretionary and 16 hours personal each year and 8 hours sick each month. Paid leave for college designated holiday's, spring break, thanksgiving and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
