Simpson College seeks qualified candidates for a Full-Time Assistant Coach – Football

Principal Duties

This position reports directly to the Head Football Coach and will assist in managing the day-to-day operations for the Football program, emphasizing:

  1. Serves as a representative of the College, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SC community and with the public.
  2. Assist the Head Coach with the training and coaching of assigned student-athletes
  3. Assist with the scouting and recruitment of qualified student-athletes
  4. Assist with the promotion of the football program
  5. Abide by the policies, regulations, and rules of the NCAA, conference, and Simpson College, including the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Coaches.
  6. Assist with the monitoring and enforcement of players’ conformity to the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Student-Athletes.
  7. Assist the Coordinator with the weekly game plan
  8. Organize, manage, and direct all aspects of student-athlete recruitment for the football program
  9. Assist with the retention of football student-athletes
  10. Assist with NCAA compliance matters under the supervision of the Assistant. Athletic Director
  11. Perform other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Valid Driver’s License & CPR Certification
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population
  • Strong organization skills,
  • Demonstrable aptitude for computer skills (PC-based Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel).
  • The successful candidate will also be able to work both as a team member and independently.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, and 3 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
