What will you do?

Joining one of our two development teams – Alpha & Omega – you will be working on either our Admin Portal solution (an application used by the internal team to do various tasks such as configure pricing, routes, and account management) or on 8x8 Connect, 8x8 Converse and 8x8 Video Interaction which are web-based and customer-facing applications.

How will you do it?

In this role, you will be partnering with cross-functional teams across 8x8. You will work closely with our business leaders and other partners to implement new solutions. The Integrations team enables core integration systems at 8x8 via NodeJS APIs, VueJS, and React web applications. We will tackle decomposing legacy monolithic services into decoupled, event-driven microservices, monolithic single-page web applications into decoupled, micro front-end architecture-based web applications at scale.

You will get to work on some exciting new technologies but there will be work bringing our existing services & applications up to date.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, interpret, and clarify functional requirements as well as technical requirements for product features;

  • Work with Product Management and Engineering Leadership to implement software to specification;

  • Collaborate and contribute to architecture and design decisions driving product direction;

  • Support your application all the way to production.

Highlights of our technology stack:

  • NodeJS with Koa, Hapi and EggJS frameworks;

  • Micro Frontend Architecture using single-spa;

  • React;

  • Vue;

  • Tailwind;

  • CloudFront + S3;

  • AWS ECS and AWS EKS;

  • Kubernetes;

  • Redis;

  • MSSQL.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing and developing scalable enterprise-level back-end & front end solutions;

  • Comfortable in JavaScript programming language;

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or another highly technical subject where programming was a key requirement;

  • Proven skills and hands-on programming experience in JavaScript;

  • Proven skills and hands-on programming experience in React or VueJS framework;

  • Strong experience writing unit tests for web and backend and automated testing of API;

  • Familiar with architecture, design, development, and deployment of enterprise systems;

  • Understand security concepts and build reliable and safe applications.

Additional Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills;

  • Excellent with working on REST services;

  • Experience working in a global environment, across multiple time zones and geographies;

  • Experience with MSSQL;

  • Experience with integrations and ability to get up to speed with multiple third-party products and their API’s and Environments.

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid: onsite every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
