Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Drive Digital Transformation in Consumer Finance in Consumer Technology. Based in Sydney.

What’s the role?

Join our Digital Consumer Finance Technology Team as a hands-on Senior Full-Stack Engineer You’ll design, build, maintain, and test cutting-edge technology solutions that power our digital finance platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders, become a domain expert, and support the broader engineering community while contributing to major transformation programmes like UNITE Work in a fast-paced, agile environment and help shape the future of cards servicing and loyalty systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop customer-facing user interfaces using React.js, ensuring responsive and accessible experiences.
  • Build and maintain microservices and APIs with Spring Boot, delivering scalable backend solutions.
  • Write clean, modular, and maintainable code using modern JavaScript frameworks and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical user stories and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Optimise application performance and implement reusable UI components aligned with accessibility standards.
  • Apply an AI‑first approach to automate coding, testing, data mappings, orchestration, and documentation; orchestrate multi‑agent workflows with guardrails, policy checks, and evaluation metrics (e.g., code quality, test coverage, traceability).


What do I need?

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
  • Background in Financial Services/Banking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in technical design.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Bit, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Bamboo) and API development using Spring Boot.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React.js, Redux, Node.js).
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design principles, security, and authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT).

Desirable:

  • Passion for automation and innovation.
  • Degree or equivalent in STEM.
  • Experience with Kafka, Splunk/App Dynamics.
  • Cards servicing domain experience.
  • Ability to keep up with emerging technologies.
