About our hiring partner

Our hiring partner is building the modern platform for lab testing, starting with consumer goods brands. They help companies test more cheaply and quickly, and enable them to use lab results to automate regulatory compliance and grow revenue.

Not only are they building a lab that makes testing faster, cheaper, and easier, but also the infrastructure that allows brands to:

• Market and highlight their lab results by making it easy to push lab data directly to product display pages. Here, brands will highlight what's in their product (active ingredients + they meet their claims) and what's not in their product (heavy metals, environmental toxins, PFAs, etc)
• Automatically comply with regulations like Prop 65, CA AB 899, Amazon testing requirements, etc.

By integrating the full experience – from testing to the data sharing with customers – they're building a more efficient and streamlined process. Brands can now differentiate themselves and become the no-brainer choice in their category through testing and great transparency.

Role Overview

As an early software engineer, you will be instrumental in building out the software platform to manage all lab testing. You'll have agency to design and implement a modern software platform to help some of the world's most impactful brands manage lab testing and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build a modern SaaS platform to help CPG brands and manufacturers manage lab testing and compliance
• Play a critical role from the start, working alongside the founding engineer and customers to build and refine the platform
• Leverage your expertise in systems architecture to evaluate technical trade-offs and make informed decisions
• Implement security best practices to safeguard data and application integrity

Requirements

• Experienced full stack engineer (4+ YOE) with strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, React, Tailwind CSS, and PostgreSQL
• Bias to action - this is early stage 0 to 1 execution
• Bonus points if you're comfortable with UI/UX best practices and working closely with design teams
• Mission alignment is critical: looking for folks who are excited about bringing transparency to our food system
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of seeing the big picture and solving problems autonomously
• Previous experience in a developer role in high growth startups

Salaray Range

60-100K USD annually

To make sure it's a great fit, every new hire at this company starts with a paid 3–4 week trial focused on a clearly scoped, high-impact project (part-time). As a senior engineer, you'll jump right into meaningful, self-directed work—taking ownership over architecture decisions, implementing critical features, and helping shape the product from the outset. You'll have dedicated check-ins to receive feedback, discuss progress, and align expectations. This hands-on trial helps both of us confidently assess whether there's strong alignment on technical approach, autonomy, and long-term fit.
