Metro Global Solution Center (MGSC) is internal solution partner for METRO, a €31.5 Billion international wholesaler with operations in 32 countries through 625 stores & a team of 85,000 people globally. Metro operates in a further 10 countries with its Food Service Distribution (FSD) business and it is thus active in a total of 34 countries.

MGSC, location wise is present in Pune (India), Düsseldorf (Germany) and Szczecin (Poland). We provide Finance, HR, IT & Business operations support to 31 countries, speak 24+ languages and process over 18,000 transactions a day. We are setting tomorrow’s standards for customer focus, digital solutions, and sustainable business models. For over 12 years, we have been providing services and solutions from our two locations in Pune and Szczecin. Your Responsibilities: 

• Being involved in all phases of software engineering, from inception to coding, testing, delivery and operation
• Developing high quality code that follows best practices and clean code principles;
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security and performance;
• Collaborating with other engineers or team members
• Work on various layers of the infrastructure
• Interacting with the users in order to understand and characterize their needs and advise them if necessary

Qualifications

Required key competencies and qualifications:

• 5+ years of building and running containerized complex web applications in the cloud
• 5+ years several years of programming in a high-level language, e.g. Java, Kotlin, Scala, JavaScript
• Experience with and commitment to CICD and DevOps best practices
• Independent reliable working style
• Capability to form opinions and express them in discussions

Nice to have:

• Experience with Cloud Platform, preferably GCP, in particular GKE, Cloud Armor, Networking
• Experience with react and Microfrontend architecture (preferably Module Federation)
• Experience with docker, kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog
• Experience with Cassandra, Kafka, Solr
• Experience with terraform, kotlin, typescript
• Experience with running AI Agents, preferably in Production
• Very good fluency in English (written and verbal).
