Company IntroductionPolymer Capital Management is a market-neutral, multi-manager investment platform focused on Asia. Our goal is to discover and nurture the region's top investment talent by combining established institutional support with extensive local financial market knowledge. We were founded in partnership with PAG, one of the world's largest Asia-focused alternative asset managers, and we have been operational since 2019.
Job BriefOur team specializes in data analytics and visualization, handling multiple projects that encompass risk analytics, monitoring, quantitative research, and trading. We take an end-to-end approach to development, which includes database schema design, API design, and front-end UI/UX design. We use Agile and DevOps methodologies to refine our products iteratively, managing build, test, deployment, and monitoring processes. We maintain high-quality code through peer reviews and automated tests, using Git branching models, pull requests, and CI/CD tools.
Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in either front-end or back-end development, or both. While you are not expected to be an expert in all areas, you should be comfortable working on any project aspect. Our developers are encouraged to grow with the team and become proficient in delivering end-to-end solutions.
• Eagerness to step out of your comfort zone and learn. You will encounter mathematical and statistical concepts that require understanding and implementing user requirements. You may also need to use multiple programming languages and frameworks within a single project to provide the most effective solution.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing. Our team members come from diverse backgrounds, and daily communication is primarily in English, while limited speaking ability is acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with our primary languages and frameworks, which include C#, TypeScript, Python, React, FastAPI, and .NET Core.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Anaconda, RESTful API, WebSocket, and gRPC is also preferred.
• Knowledge of Cloud, CI/CD setup, CDK/Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge, such as understanding correlation and standard deviation, and basic linear algebra operations related to matrices.
• A financial background is not a prerequisite, as we understand that candidates may not have prior experience in hedge funds or investment banks. At Polymer, our financial concepts are accessible and designed to be learned through hands-on project involvement.
