How You'll Make an Impact

The Engineering team at Trusting Social builds the AI-native systems that power credit decisioning, eKYC, fraud prevention, and lending workflows across four markets. This role ships across the full technology stack — frontend, backend, data, infrastructure — with AI as the primary productivity lever, not an optional add-on. You will work alongside product, data science, and operations teams to turn AI-native features into production-grade systems that reach millions of consumers.

The Full-Stack AI Engineer who succeeds here owns problems, not layers. They decompose ambiguous requirements before reaching for a solution, catch the failure modes AI misses, and build workflows that teammates adopt — not just personal productivity tricks. They are not bound by "that's not my layer"; they follow the problem across the stack until it is solved.

What You'll Do

Cross-Stack Delivery

• Own features end-to-end across frontend, backend, and data layers — accountable for delivery, not just your slice of it.
• Use AI tooling (LLMs, agentic workflows, Claude) as a daily productivity lever embedded in how you ship, not used occasionally.
• Catch the edge cases and failure modes AI misses; problem-solving depth is what you bring that AI cannot replace.

System Design & Architecture

• Design solutions at workflow and system level before writing code; produce design docs, API contracts, and alternative-comparison analyses that teammates reference.
• Make trade-off decisions with documented rationale — your designs should survive past your own involvement on a feature.
• Prototype agentic systems and AI workflows in Claude; read and act on metrics to validate what you ship.

Production Ownership & Quality

• Own production reliability for your systems; monitor metrics, catch drift early, and respond to incidents without being prompted.
• Build with observability from day one; write tests that reflect how the system actually fails, not just the happy path.
• Keep AI systems above the quality threshold at target cost — measure output, not just activity.
• AI Workflow Development & Knowledge Encoding
• Build AI workflows that teammates adopt, creating team-level patterns for how the team ships — not just personal productivity gains.
• Encode what you learn into artifacts — documented frameworks, decision aids, runbooks — that reduce bus factor and scale your impact beyond the features you own.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background

• 3+ years in software engineering with demonstrated delivery across more than one layer of the stack (frontend, backend, data, or infrastructure).
• Hands-on experience shipping production AI features — LLM integration, agentic workflows, or AI-assisted systems at scale.
• Startup or tech background is a strong plus.

How You Work

• You use AI tooling daily and can describe concretely how it changes your output — not just what tools you use, but how your workflows have evolved and what teammates have adopted.
• You decompose ambiguous problems before reaching for a solution; root-cause analysis is a reflex, not a last resort.
• You connect frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure concerns — you do not hand off when the problem crosses layers.
• You encode what you learn; your contributions outlast the feature you are building.

Skills & Competencies

• AI Engineer/Architect — Ships end-to-end AI-powered software across BE + FE + agents + data with Claude; owns the full delivery, not just a layer.
• Product Architect — Designs at workflow and system level; documents trade-offs and alternatives that survive past the sprint and get referenced by others.
• Domain Expert — Builds deep understanding of the product domain (credit decisioning, eKYC, fraud, or core engineering disciplines like security or observability); encodes it into artifacts teammates use.
• AI Operator — Monitors production AI systems above quality threshold; catches drift before it becomes an incident; acts on metrics, not assumptions.
• Proficiency in modern web and backend frameworks; experience with LLM APIs, vector databases, or AI orchestration tooling.
• Strong English communication skills (spoken and written — professional fluency required).
• High adaptability and comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
