The School of Engineering and & Computing at the American International University in Kuwait comprises the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The school offers Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Position Summary

The School of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Chemical Engineering at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, maintain an active research profile, and engage with emerging technologies and methodologies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, research, and institutional service, while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, student-centered, and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate Chemical Engineering courses with a strong focus on practical and industry-based learning.
• Integrate industry practices, process engineering applications, standards, safety requirements, and real-world case studies into teaching.
• Use modern engineering tools and technologies, including AI, process simulation, data analysis, process control, and digital technologies.
• Teach key areas of Chemical Engineering, including process design, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control, and plant operations.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of university-level teaching experience, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
• Strong knowledge of current Chemical Engineering practices, standards, technologies, and process safety.
• Ability to connect classroom teaching with real-world engineering and industrial practices.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, teamwork, and organizational skills in English.

• Ability to integrate diverse cultural and ethical perspectives into the curriculum.
