Tides Family Services is a nonprofit organization that is committed to providing comprehensive support and resources to children, adolescents, and families facing various challenges. The overall mission of Tides is to provide services and supports that allow youth to live in a community-based setting. An "Agency Without Walls" our services are delivered in homes, communities, schools...wherever our youth are.

The IOP Behavioral Support Staff works closely with IOP clinicians to provide support to youth enrolled in the program to implement therapeutic interventions, promote positive behavior, and facilitate a safe and nurturing environment for all participants. The Behavioral Support Staff are expected to have a strong understanding of adolescent behavioral health and behavior management techniques. You will also be responsible for transporting clients. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with some nights and/or weekends required for special events.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and supervise clients during program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the IOP sessions.
  • Implement behavior management techniques and strategies to promote positive behavior change and help clients develop healthy coping skills.
  • Responsible for transporting clients the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) site, office locations, community activities and home from the program as directed or as scheduled.
  • Assist in the development of crisis response plans and respond promptly and effectively to any crisis situations that may arise during program sessions in accordance with program policies/procedures and clinical supervision.
  • Assist in facilitating therapeutic groups or activities as directed by the clinical team.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to reinforce recovery plan goals and encourage active participation from clients.
  • Provide one-on-one support to clients and caregivers as needed.
  • Participate in the planning and facilitation of program activities including flex scheduling to participate in activities beyond the regularly scheduled program hours.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting of any significant incidents or concerns to the appropriate team members.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director in support of the organizational mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree – Required
  • Valid driver’s license and registered/inspected/insured vehicle – Required
  • Bilingual; English, Spanish, Portuguese, Creole – Preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong crisis management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, particularly when working wiht youth of all ages.
  • Experience providing behavioral support to a diverse group of youth.
  • Skilled in building relationships with internal team, stakeholders, clients and families, schools, law enforcement and other community resources.
  • Highly self-motivated, accountable and able to make decisions independently.
  • Motivation with a strong commitment to the Agency mission
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills.
  • High level of integrity, ethics and values.

Salary $47,000 - $57,000
