Fulfillment Specialist

Location: Vernon Hills, IL

Pay Rate: $19.00 – $24.00 per hour

A growing distribution operation in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking experienced Fulfillment Specialists to join a newly consolidated, high-volume facility where your ability to process orders correctly and efficiently will have a direct and visible impact on the team's daily success. As a Fulfillment Specialist, you are the person who makes sure every order that leaves the building is right — the right product, the right quantity, packaged correctly and ready to ship.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders with a high degree of accuracy, following order specifications, packaging standards, and quality control guidelines
• Perform kitting and light assembly functions as required, ensuring product components are correctly matched and packaged per customer requirements
• Scan and verify product at each stage of the fulfillment process, updating records in the warehouse management system to maintain real-time inventory accuracy
• Stage completed orders in designated shipping areas, organized by carrier, route, and shipment schedule
• Meet daily order fulfillment targets without sacrificing accuracy — balancing speed with attention to detail throughout each shift
• Identify and escalate order discrepancies, damaged product, or inventory variances to supervisors immediately
• Follow all packaging and labeling protocols to ensure orders are correctly identified and compliant with carrier requirements
• Support returns processing as needed, evaluating product condition and routing items through appropriate disposition channels
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all OSHA and facility-specific safety standards
• Collaborate with inventory control, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure smooth, coordinated daily operations

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a fulfillment, e-commerce warehouse, or distribution environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated track record of high order accuracy in a previous role
• Comfort with barcode scanning, warehouse management systems, and basic computer data entry
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to work at a consistent, sustained pace in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to flag issues quickly and clearly to supervisors and teammates
• Reliable attendance history and demonstrated ability to meet productivity standards consistently
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
