Job Description

Purpose andScope:

Efficientlyfuel assigned equipment. Perform the workrequiredin a timely mannerandmaintainadequate production to meet service schedules.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Installs,maintains, repairs, and inspect the following FSE Assets:

  • FuelOperational Readiness CapabilityEquipment (FORCE)

  • R-11Refueling Units

  • C-301 Refueling Units

  • TacticalAutomatedServiceStation (TASS)

  • PMU-27 Pumping Cart

  • 10K, 50K and 210KFuel Bladder

  • 210K Berm Liner

  • Test Set Flow

  • CrossCountryPipeline(CCP)Kits

  • Adjusts/repair pumps, control valves, meters, strainers, filters, water separators, and all other elements of liquid fuel systems.

  • Makes periodic inspections of fuel bladders, pumping units in compliance with applicable regulations, to detect and correct leakage, corrosion, faulty fittings, and malfunction of mechanical units, meters, gauges, and hoses.

  • Perform 90- and 180-dayinspections ofFSE assets per regulations, AFI and Technical Orders

  • Inspectelectrical wiring, switches, and controls for safe operating condition, grounding, and adjustment.

  • Repairs, replaces, and adjusts malfunctioning equipment to restore operatingconditionsspecified in regulations and repair manuals.F

  • Disassembles, adjusts, aligns, calibrates gauges and meters, and perform hydrostatic hose testing

  • Maintain andmonitorthe Shelf-life program for all FSE parts (hoses, valves, seals and any other items ormaterialthat have a shelf-life requirement)

  • Perform PMIs and function checks on all equipment to ensure that units are pumping and straining fuel IAW AFIs and Technical Orders.

  • Performinventoryof RSPs and UTC FSE kits on a semi and annual basis or when directed

  • Prep assets for shipment to offsite locations

  • Perform Limited Technical Inspections (LTIs) such as Acceptance, Shipment, and Condition on assets arriving or being shipped from the site.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) to five (5)years of job-related experience

  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions

  • Must have experience in the installation, operation, inspection, maintenance, and/or repair of fuel delivery systems

  • Mustbe physically able tooperatea variety of machinery and equipment, including fuel trucks, forklifts, fuel pumps, hand tools, etc.

  • Must be physically able tooperatemotor vehicles.

  • Ability to read, speak and write English

  • Mustpossessbasic mathematical skills

  • Must be able to speak,readand write English.

  • Mustbe authorized towork in host country.

Contract Requirementsin accordance withAppendix J:

  • Completed Fuels Apprentice Course (J3ABR2F031 00AB), militaryserviceor commercial equivalent

  • Completed FORCE Course (J3AZR2F051 05AB) or 10 years’ experience

  • Governmentwill schedule attendance atFORCECourse within 12 months of employment, if necessary.

  • Certification: National Petroleum Management Association Certified Petroleum Journeyman (CPJ) or equivalent certification is acceptable in place of fuels apprentice training

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Shop environment in which mechanical equipment is operated, is loud and noisy, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving componentsMust be able to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 25 pounds of forceconstantly to move objects. Requires the ability to climb, reach, and/or stretch arms, legs, or other parts of body to grasp objects. Physical demand requirements are for medium to heavy work.
