The Fueler II is responsible for fueling company vehicles and supporting fleet fueling operations at assigned locations. In addition to performing standard fueling duties, this position operates company buses and vans to transport vehicles to and from on-site or off-site fueling locations, ensuring fleet readiness and efficient fueling operations. The Fueler II monitors vehicle fuel and fluid levels, replenishes fluids as needed, and performs all duties in accordance with company policies and applicable safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Fuel company vehicles throughout all types of weather conditions (shelter will be provided).
· Operate company buses and vans to transport vehicles between parking locations and on-site or off-site fueling locations as needed.
· Check oil and other vehicle fluid levels and replenish fluids as needed.
· Check dates on DOT stickers and vehicle registrations.
· Maintain all records associated with fueling operations, including fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle information.
· Record fueling and vehicle maintenance information, including gallons dispensed, mileage, and vehicle number using company-issued technology.
· Maintain shop cleanliness, including the surrounding shop and fueling areas.
· Assist the shop with general fleet support duties, including simple vehicle repairs such as replacing light bulbs and mirrors.
· Conduct required pre-trip and post-trip inspections on company vehicles operated as part of fueling activities.
· Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid New York State Commercial Driver License (CDL) with any required endorsements to operate buses and vans as needed. Beacon Mobility provides on-site CDL training and licensing assistance for qualified employees selected for the Fueler II position.
· Acceptable driving record.
· Ability to safely handle and dispense diesel fuel and regular gasoline.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform work in varying weather conditions.
· Strong attention to safety and detail.
Preferred Qualifications
· Previous commercial driving experience.
· Experience fueling commercial vehicles or fleet equipment.
· Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe fuel handling practices.
· Experience maintaining fueling records or inventory.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Safe operation of commercial vehicles.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Basic recordkeeping and documentation skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Commitment to safety and teamwork.
Working Conditions
· Primarily works outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing.
· Regular operation of commercial vehicles and fueling equipment.
· May be required to work flexible hours, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
