Fuel Operator Function Africa Operations Team Lusaka Truck Stop Job Grade TBC – Semi-skilled Geographical Lusaka, Zambia Reporting to Truck Stop & Branch Leader Direct Reports None Nature of Employment Permanent 1. Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to ensure the smooth operations of the Truck Park in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. This involves the daily operations of the Truck Park. 2. Organogram 3. Duties and Key Areas of Responsibility Main Duties ● Assist Customers with their needs in the Truck Park including Pumping fuel, performing basic safety checks on trucks, and directing them to have their orders fulfilled. ● Perform stock counts of fuel by gauging tanks daily i.e., at the start and end of the shift, as well as end of day and to reconcile any arising differences. ● Prepare End of Day Reports for the Truck Park and report any abnormal variances. ● Ensure good housekeeping at the Truck Park namely Tank farm and gantry. ● Ensure that all clients and contractors are following safety regulations regarding speed limit, designated parking, no smoking in dangerous zones, horseplay, etc. ● Take part in premise audits. ● Record all activities occurring at the gantry in the gantry book. This includes offloading. General Maintenance & Care ● Perform Equipment Inspections using the provided Inspection Checklists. Liaise with Truckyard Mgr. ● Ensure ZERO injuries, ZERO spills, ZERO equipment damage. ● Report all incidents and near misses. ● Know the Emergency Response Plan and use as guided. Other Duties ● Participate in all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) Meetings and Fire Drills. ● Ensure Oil Interceptor is clean and that returns are submitted to the laboratory quarterly. ● Enforce safety and adhere to the Truck Park and company rules, both written and implied. ● Dispose of waste as hazardous and non-hazardous separately. ● Any other related tasks ordinarily expected in an oil marketing company. General Responsibilities within the Truck Park ● Watering plants ● Cleaning the abrasions & Sweeping office ● Offloading diesel & Truck Parking 4. Academic and Trade Qualifications ▪ High School diploma or equivalent is advantageous ▪ Additional courses in relevant fields will be advantageous 5. Work Experience & Skills ▪ Proven experience in a similar role ▪ Able to stand for extended periods of time ▪ Excellent organisational skills ▪ Ability to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision ▪ Able to work mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed ▪ Knowledge of health and safety standards 6.
