As our long-term, major operations and maintenance contract continues to grow, we are seeking several talented Defence Fuel Installation - Operators to join our team at Townsville, NQLD.

  • Support the Defence Fuel Network across Australia, ensuring operational excellence and reliability.

The Role - Defence Fuel Installations - Operator (DFI Operator)

Whilst this position supports multiple fuel installation sites around the region, you will be primarily established at Townsville RAAF Base. It is essential that successful candidates live or are willing to relocate near the general area Townsville.

As a DFI Operator, you will:

  • Report to the Operating Agent (OA) and perform a range of operational and functional tasks across the installation.
  • Ensure the safe, compliant operation and management of aviation and/or ground fuel installations.
  • Oversee fuel quality, compliance, quantity, and availability, including related systems and processes.
  • Maintain technical integrity of fuel through quality control sampling and testing.
  • Bring experience from similar environments—fuel or other high-risk/hazardous processing industries—highly regarded.

No prior Defence or Fuel Industry experience? No problem!

While Defence or fuel industry experience is advantageous, UGL’s comprehensive training and development programs provide a pathway into the industry. You’ll receive the skills and knowledge needed to perform your role safely, including access to specialised interstate facilities and a mix of onsite and offsite training throughout your career.
