FTTH Construction Project Manager

Location: Newark, NJ, Clifton, NJ, Piscataway, NJ, or Oakland, NJ (Candidates may choose their primary office location)

Overview

Our client, a leading broadband and telecommunications provider, is seeking an FTTH Construction Project Manager to support large-scale residential fiber expansion initiatives throughout New Jersey.

This position is focused on managing FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) deployment programs, construction vendors, project documentation, contractor performance, utility coordination, invoicing review, and project execution. The Project Manager will work closely with engineering firms, construction partners, utility companies, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting residential FTTH builds, managing construction vendors, reviewing as-built documentation, validating project deliverables, and supporting broadband network expansion efforts.

Candidates should have experience supporting FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home), broadband, cable, residential fiber construction, OSP infrastructure, or telecommunications deployment programs. Experience limited solely to wireless, small cell, DAS, macro tower, or cellular deployments is unlikely to be a fit for this opportunity.

• Valid driver's license and ability to support occasional travel within New Jersey

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage FTTH residential fiber deployment programs throughout New Jersey
• Oversee construction vendors, contractors, engineering firms, and project partners
• Drive project execution from planning through completion
• Review and validate as-built documentation for project accuracy and completion
• Compare contractor invoices against completed construction work and approved project scopes
• Track contractor production, project milestones, construction schedules, and deliverables
• Coordinate utility pole transfer activities, make-ready efforts, and utility approvals
• Manage engineering handoffs and ensure projects are construction-ready
• Track permit approvals, utility approvals, attachment transfers, and project milestones
• Monitor vendor performance and contractor deliverables
• Partner with contractors to resolve documentation, invoicing, production, and schedule discrepancies
• Maintain project reporting and project records within Sitetracker, NJUNS, and related systems
• Coordinate with engineering, permitting, utility, construction, and operations teams
• Identify project risks and drive issue resolution
• Deliver project status reporting to leadership
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
• Support broadband expansion, FTTH deployment, network modernization, and residential fiber construction initiatives

Work Environment

• Candidates may work from Newark, Clifton, Piscataway, or Oakland, NJ based on preference and business need
• Initial onboarding and training may take place in another New Jersey office location before transitioning to the employee's designated home office
• Minimal travel required with occasional project meetings, utility coordination discussions, stakeholder meetings, vendor reviews, or construction site visits
• Fast-paced environment supporting large-scale residential FTTH deployment initiatives
• Daily interaction with construction vendors, utility companies, engineering teams, operations groups, and project leadership
• Supports fiber deployment programs, broadband network expansion initiatives, utility coordination efforts, and OSP construction activities throughout New Jersey

This role is heavily focused on FTTH residential fiber deployment programs, vendor management, contractor oversight, as-built review, invoice validation, project execution, and broadband infrastructure delivery. Candidates with experience supporting fiber-to-the-home deployments, managing construction partners, reviewing project documentation, and coordinating broadband construction programs will be particularly successful.

This is a Contract position based out of Newark, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
