Job Title: Retail Assistant Manager Staff supervised: Store Personnel Department: Retail Date written/revised: 1/2019 Location: Goodwill HQ, San Jose Staff/non-staff: Staff Reports To: Senior Retail Manager Exempt/Non-exempt: Non-Exempt Major Responsibilities: Provide high profile leadership and direction by maintaining positive customer service and employee morale Accountable for all aspects of store operations Conduct weekly store management meetings, as well as daily huddles Ensure that safety and security is maintained, reporting all problems/hazards immediately Meet store goals, both in revenue and profit Reach daily, weekly, monthly production goals by monitoring the production processes, ensuring pricing/sorting staff are well trained, and flow of goods to the floor is timely. This includes ensuring proper rotation is followed at all times. Manage Supervisors and all employees in the absence of the Senior Retail Manager, including but not limited to, hiring, coaching/counseling, discipline, terminations, evaluations and initiation of wage adjustments. Follow LOD checklist and conduct daily audits per the checklist. Ensure all SOPs are available and followed by all employees. This includes the Production Area and Merchandising of the floor. Ensure all Standards are consistently met. Noise and vibrations are not significant; however, radios and televisions may be turned on Physical Demands: Fast work pace with constant standing and walking Light physical work demands requiring lifting 30 lbs maximum, with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Large or heavy items are moved by using appropriate material handling equipment and/or with assistance from co-worker(s). Safety handling procedures must be followed. Normal or corrected talking, hearing, and seeing abilities are sufficient to perform required tasks. High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Minimum 1-3 years of retail management experience
Proficient in the English language
