The Police Department Support reports directly to the Police Department Office Manager and provides administrative support to the Lansing Community College Police Department (part of the Administrative Services Division). This position supports record management for Citizen Contacts, parking warnings & tickets, traffic citations, trespass issued, police reports, and other official documents. As a complex and specialized area of the College, the LCC Police Department (PD) maintains specialized services, reports, personnel records, and uniquely proprietary equipment, such as cameras and door security control systems on every campus; also confidential law enforcement reports and duty weapons and provides direct support services to all LCC sites.
This role also provides essential support services to Lansing Community College students, staff, and faculty by acting as a point of contact for the issuing of Star Cards, building keys, and parking passes; performing basic troubleshooting for access issues; facilitating the fingerprinting of LCC employees as needed; and managing the logging, notification, and return of lost & found items.
This support position requires an on-campus, in-person presence five days a week. Furthermore, when warranted by an emergency, this individual may need to report outside of normal business hours. Accuracy, attention to detail, determination, and confidentiality are key skills required for this position.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience
Demonstrated customer service experience
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience working with law enforcement
Experience working in higher education
