Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  1. Complete both reactive and preventative maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
  2. Assess, troubleshoot, and resolve facility, equipment, and grounds-related issues.
  3. Maintain open, honest, and ongoing communication with the team & management.
  4. Demonstrate responsibility by working within established timelines.
  5. Manage tooling and equipment operation safely & responsibly, following established safety practices and procedures.
  6. Utilizing inventory to support cost-effective operations.
  7. Coordinate and provide support for contractor work (where needed).
  8. Maintain a positive, professional attitude in all aspects of the role.
  9. Be reliable and available for scheduled shifts, including call-ins as required.
  10. Maintain and demonstrate awareness regard prevention of unauthorized removal of merchandise.
  11. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  12. Required to participate in the Maintenance department on-call program
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 required

  • Technical Trade Certification is required; such as Building Systems Technician, Fireman Boiler Operator Certification, or equivalents

  • Minimum 3 years of full time related experience.

  • Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 Drivers’ License at all times.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers.

  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and self-motivation.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings and prepare detailed reports.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on safe and cost-effective solutions.

  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities to meet overall maintenance objectives.

  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting from 50–100 lbs occasionally, sustained lifting of 10–20 lbs, as well as climbing ladders.

  • Must be available mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
