
The Hospice Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary hospice team, the LPN assists in implementing the established plan of care, monitoring patient condition, managing symptoms, providing education and emotional support, and promoting comfort and quality of life.
The LPN must demonstrate flexibility, strong communication skills, sound clinical judgment within the LPN scope of practice, and a commitment to providing timely and responsive care. Hospice care is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; therefore, flexibility in scheduling and participation in after-hours, weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage may be required based on patient and organizational needs.
