What you’ll do:
The Team Member will perform a variety of responsibilities in the operation, ensuring alignment with our Core Values and Brand. The successful candidate will primarily support the Sporting Goods department while contributing as a Home Centre Team Member across multiple areas of the store. This role combines customer service, inventory management, regulatory compliance, merchandising, and operational responsibilities to ensure a safe, organized, and professional retail environment.
Understanding and following Westview Co-op’s Health and Safety Program
Providing professional, people-first service to our Members and Guests while living our Brand expectations through our “You’re at Home Here” motto
Operating our point-of-sale terminals
General merchandising of product
Accurate ordering, handling, loading/unloading, and delivery of product
Working with CASMS (Computer Assisted Shelf Management)
Support the day-to-day operations of the Sporting Goods department while contributing as a Home Centre Team Member across all areas of the store
Responsible for inventory management and merchandising within the Sporting Goods department
Accountable for maintaining accurate product inventory and supporting the financial performance of the department
Maintain compliance with all licensing requirements, company policies, and federal/provincial regulations related to Sporting Goods and firearms sales
Provide professional and responsible customer service while promoting safe and compliant product handling practices
Assist in the hardware and lumber departments as required
Ensure a high level of store image in line with our Brand expectations
Other projects and assignments as required
This position requires the use of equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts and stock carts, as well as heavy lifting of product.
Who you are
We are looking for a positive, approachable and motivated individual with a drive to learn. Candidates will demonstrate the following:
Willingness to complete a Criminal Record Background Check
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail with a professional, people-first approach to customer service
Alignment with our values of Integrity, Community, and Teamwork
Knowledge of, and interest in, the sporting goods category is considered an asset
Current Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL), or ability to obtain one, is required
Ability to balance customer service, operational responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and administrative duties in a fast-paced retail environment
This is a Full-time position, and the successful candidate must be available to work days, evenings and weekends.
