HVAC Draftsman

An HVAC Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial projects. They work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and construction teams to develop accurate and coordinated HVAC designs that meet project requirements, industry standards, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare and revise HVAC shop drawings, ducting layouts, piping drawings, equipment schedules, and coordination drawings using CAD software.
• 
  Develop detailed plans for air distribution systems, ventilation systems, chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, and mechanical equipment installations.
• 
  Coordinate HVAC drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to avoid design conflicts.
• 
  Review project specifications, tender documents, and engineering designs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• 
  Produce as-built drawings and maintain drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• 
  Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation based on approved drawings.
• 
  Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• 
  Support site teams by incorporating field changes and resolving drawing-related issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 
  Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• 
  Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software such as Revit MEP.
• 
  Strong understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment.
• 
  Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• 
  Knowledge of industry standards and construction practices.
• 
  Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
