Plumbing Draftsman – Job Description

A Plumbing Draftsman is responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts for plumbing, drainage, water supply, and sanitary systems for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. They collaborate with plumbing engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders to produce accurate drawings that comply with project specifications, local regulations, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare detailed plumbing and drainage drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
• 
  Develop water supply, sanitary drainage, stormwater drainage, and plumbing isometric drawings.
• 
  Produce installation layouts, riser diagrams, piping plans, and coordination drawings.
• 
  Revise and update drawings based on engineer comments and project requirements.
• 
  Coordinate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to identify and resolve design clashes.
• 
  Ensure all drawings comply with applicable plumbing codes, standards, and project specifications.
• 
  Maintain drawing registers, revisions, and technical documentation.
• 
  Support project teams by providing accurate and timely drafting services throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• 
  Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Design, Drafting, or a related field.
• 
  Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP or BIM software is an advantage.
• 
  Strong understanding of plumbing systems, piping layouts, and drafting standards.
• 
  Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• 
  Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
