PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To control the overall operation of the Fruits & Vegetables department by producing fresh and quality products, maintain hygiene and food safety standards and promote excellent customer service in order to achieve profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 11 New Curriculum or Grade 12 Old Curriculum
• At least 3 years of experience in a Fresh department / retail environment with supervisory responsibilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Utilise available resources effectively to attain monthly budgeted turnover results for the department.
• Implement proper control over shrinkage and waste targets.
• Responsible for the effective preparation for the stock take and liaise with the Administrative Controller during such stock taking preparations.
• Control the stock rotation processes and maintain overall quality of products and expired stock.
• Implement, apply and monitor QDVP4 standards within the whole department.
• Accept accountability for the production schedules and determine volumes required.
• Control the Inter - Departmental Transfer (IDT) and waste management process.
• Prepare and timeously present all specialities and display in an attractive manner.
• Check and monitor that all areas within the department is cleaned and that machinery is correctly and safely operated.
• Oversee the functions and work delivery of all reporting staff.
• Maintain company standards and ensure that policies and procedure are adhered to.
