Job Description

Position Summary: The Frozen Food/Dairy Department Manager plays a key role in delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining an organized, well-stocked frozen and dairy food department. The associate will be responsible for ordering, receiving, stocking, and storing products efficiently while ensuring optimal product rotation and quality. This position will also include creating and building attractive product displays, ensuring products are properly faced, and managing product damages and credits in accordance with company and vendor policies.

Key Responsibilities: (Responsibilities may vary depending on assignment.)

· Provide outstanding customer service.

· Assists truck drivers with unloading deliveries and the placement of pallets.

· Operates a manual or electric pallet jack (18+ years old).

· Orders product.

· Records known loss.

· Ensure frozen food and dairy cases and coffins are well stocked and cleaned.

· Ensures proper temperature of all frozen cases and products to prevent loss of product.

· Responsible for shrink, gross margin, and sales goals.

· Stocks merchandise.

· Hangs signs and tags for price changes, ADs, etc.

· Helps maintain a clean sales floor and backroom.

· Operates box bailer and makes bails of cardboard. (18+ years old)

· Assist on the front-end with cashier and carryout duties as needed.

· Any other responsibilities as assigned by manager.

Work Environment:

• May be exposed to all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, ice and wind) as well as, inside work with variations in heat, cold, dust, and humidity.
• Work primarily performed on sales floor and inside of a walk-in freezer or walk-in cooler.
• Fast paced retail environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequently moves, lifts, and carries merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance. Occasionally moves, lifts, and carries merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting with or without bearing weight. Occasionally required to climb and/or crawl.
• Stands or walks continuously throughout the shift.

Qualifications & Other Job Requirements:

· Previous experience in a retail or grocery environment preferred, but not required.

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

· Minimum age requirement = 18 years old.
